This couple met in High School in the south Texas town of McAllen. “I knew who Rene was because of mutual friends, but had never actuallytalked to him. I thought he was so handsome. I would always tell our mutualfriends jokingly that he was my boyfriend. We dated his Junior year and mySenior year of High School.”

Proposal story: We walked on the beach at South Padre Island, the weather was breezy and beautiful. Over a glass of champagne, hetold me how thankful he was for everything and expressed how much he loved me. Then he proposed.

Wedding location: El Escobedo Ranchito in McAllen, Tx

We planned this beautiful, small Mexican themed wedding in only two weeks. The actual plan had been to get married at the courthouse and invite our immediate family. Next thing we know, all of Rene’s family from Mexico City booked flights to McAllen. The invitation list kept expanding. My parents decided, “Let’s just invite the 80 people we were planning on havingand do this thing!” So we did.

Yazmeen’s Advice:

Every bride should hire a wedding planner. No matter how organized you or a family members may think they are, no bride or family member should run the show. Even if it is only a day-of coordinator, it relieves somuch stress and allows the bridal couple to enjoy themselves on their special day.
